Northeast Regional Tax Collectors & Treasurers Association

Welcome to the Northeast Regional Tax Collectors and Treasurers Association.

Northeast Regional includes the northeastern United States from Maine to Maryland, as well as the District of Columbia.  There is always room at our table for new members.  Each member state  is entitled to “at large” representation on our Board of Directors, and the president of each state association, or their designee, is a member of our Board.

If YOU are interested in becoming more active in our group, perhaps as an at-large representative of your own state, please reach out to one of the contacts on this page, or have your state association reach out to us.

Our association was organized in 1988.  In 2023, we revised our bylaws to reflect recent changes in how we conduct business, and to more accurately reflect the composition of our group.   Since COVID, we have been holding more virtual board meetings, as well as virtual workshops.

2023 also saw the reinstatement of our newsletter, and we made a commitment to offer some virtual workshops in an effort to reach more people.  This has proved successful, and we anticipate continuing to offer virtual workshops, as well as our three-day in person annual conference, in the years to come.   Our conferences and workshops touch on areas that are pertinent in helping us serve our communities with professionalism.   Please bookmark this website and check back for updates.

Our 37th annual conference will be held September 20 – 23, 2026 at the Stoweflake Resort and Conference Center in scenic Stowe, Vermont.

Both our 2025 and 2024 conferences were held in Massachusetts, central to our geographic range – in  Hyannis and in Sturbridge, respectively.   In 2023, we were in Rehoboth Beach, Delaware.  2022 took us to North Conway, New Hampshire, and in 2021 we were in Cape May, New Jersey.  We are excited that our 2026 event will be our first conference in the Green Mountain State of Vermont.   Where will the future take us?   We invite you to join us and help us decide.

Thank you, and please check back here for updates.

Message from the President

Dear Members,

Welcome to another exciting year with the Northeast Regional Tax Collectors and Treasurers Association. I am truly humbled to step into the role of President and to represent such a dedicated and talented group of professionals. Thank you for the incredible support you have already shown me; it is both an honor and a privilege to serve the NRTCTA for the next two years.

Our profession is the backbone of community financial stability and transparency. However, our work is about more than just numbers—it is about serving people, building trust, and ensuring our municipalities thrive. In the coming years, we will focus on strengthening our professional connections, sharing best practices, and supporting one another through the ever-changing landscape of public service.

As we look ahead, we face a unique set of challenges and opportunities, from adapting to new legislation to embracing emerging technologies. Together, we will continue to uphold the highest standards of integrity and accountability. I invite you to engage, participate, and share your ideas so that we can make these next two years a period of true innovation and collaboration.

I encourage you to take full advantage of the resources, training, and networking opportunities our Association offers. Your dedication is the foundation of our collective success, and I look forward to working alongside you to advance our shared goals. Please join us at our 37th Annual Conference at the beautiful Stoweflake Mountain Resort & Spa in Stowe, Vermont!!

With respect and appreciation,

Jo Anne Santos
